It focuses on the benefits that participating in wrestling can have on football, and the correlation of success between athletes who participate in both sports. What it fails to mention is how football can also help you on the wrestling mat. Moving explosively, getting used to the physicality of big collisions, learning to tackle/drive through your opponent, and emphasis on speed and footwork all benefit athletes who find themselves on the mats in the winter.
If you aren't a wrestling specialist currently training/planning on training through the fall, you should be playing football.
There is still time; practices start Monday, August 10th at 8:00 a.m.
Come out, get in shape, and be prepared for the winter!
