Beardsley has a Huge Day/Repeats as GFC All-American
Battle Creek, MI October 18th 2014-Glenn Beardsley had a huge day at this year's annual Grappler Fall Classic. In his freshman season Beardsley wrestled from an unseeded draw to earn All-American honors and garnish a 7th place finish at 119 lbs. This year Beardsley registered at 135 lbs and faced a field that was bigger, stronger, and much more accomplished. With the depth of field in the weight class, many were skeptical of Beardsley's ability to place, having him enter the tournament at an 11th seed. However, the promising sophomore did not disappoint as he went 5-3 on the day to capture 6th place and convincingly beat several solid opponents. Notable wins included an 8-0 major decision over Hartland DI all state wrestler Sage Castillo, a major decision over WVA runner-up Baciek, and a 7-5 OT win over a 2x runner up from FL. Great job Glenn-and we look forward to watching you pursue a state championship this year.

Farwell set to host 2015 Team Districts
Lansing, October 2014-The FHS wrestling team learned that it will be hosting this year's 2015 MHSAA team wrestling district in our very own gym. Contestants in the district include FHS, Beaverton, Gladwin, and Clare. Gladwin has been recently hampered by losing several key wrestlers who either were injured or who transferred. Beaverton is a wrestling program that has been reinstated this school year after a long absence. This will most likely leave Clare and Farwell as favorites to vie for the title. Clare should be vastly improved after having former head coach Tim Packard regain control of the program since he left in the early 2000s. Stay tuned for the district draw results to find out the actual order of the tournament. Also, don't miss this classic JPC post season matchup that takes place at FHS on February 11. Come out and support your Eagles as they look to become back to back District Champs!
